Way down south

On the road again... we have been in Florida 3 weeks and will be here another week before heading back "north" to SC and then slowly heading up north slowly and will be up in AK before long. A few pictures of some of what has been going on. I don't have any pictures of the paperwork aspect of the job that I have been doing but a few pictures of the work we have been doing on our 172 we have down here and the planes here at MFI.

 We have also been working on our 172 down here and have been the airports entertainment watching the Alaskans work on their plane.

 Dwayne's been teaching us all about working on our plane too while we are down here.

 Even I have spent a couple days helping out on the plane, taking off flaps, degreasing them and stripping the paint off.

A few more miles part 2

The remainder of our trip in the southwest went smoothly, we had a nice time in Oklahoma catching up with Kingdom Air friends, seeing a bit of the Chickasaw culture native to Southern Oklahoma, eating local cuisine, and getting some planning and preparation done for the upcoming year with our KAC bookkeeper.

 We saw a bit of snow on our way through Tennessee on our last day's drive but thankfully no incidents

Dwayne's been busy getting back into working on planes since we got back. Got this plane started for the first time since it was donated this week!

Just a few more miles

We are on the move again... we have been on the road a week and a half now, traveling to a lot of new places for me, old placed for Dwayne & Carolyn. 

 We spent a night in Panama City Florida with friends there and had a wonderful time visiting with friends old and new there as well as spending a night in Alabama with friends of Dwayne & Carolyn. It was a great time of reconnecting with partners in the ministry and were given an engine for a 182 which will be a blessing.

 Next stop was/is Longview where we spent a week at the LeTourneau University for their missions week and had a great time connecting with students, pilots and mechanics and were able to speak with many about possibilities in Missionary Aviation. Dwayne has been reconnecting with many friends some whom he has known since he lived in Longview during his college years at LeTourneau.

 We met this neat group in Longview a group of engineer graduates who are building a 6 seat experimental plane that will be sent to our partners in Thailand

 And it was a small world as I met Audra who also graduated from RCCA in Vestal and lived in Owego, NY. 

 We had a great weekend this past weekend with the Loving family, catching up with them and meeting their family and home church as they work on raising their support in their home area in Texas.

Refresh, Renew, Reboot

From Thanksgiving to Christmas I had 6 weeks "off" or at least working part time, from a distance on some typing projects, catching up with supporters & my home church as well as spending time with family. Here are a few pics from that time... doing annual christmas activities, church events, dinner parties, fun with family, and friends as well as attending my cousins wedding

 

 

I arrived back SC January 2, and now it's back to work, flying, and something different every day as we plan and prepare for all the Lord holds in store for 2016 at Kingdom Air Corps

In times like these...

“I would have despaired if I had not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord int the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.” Psalm 27:13-14

Looking at the news and all that is going on the world around us it is easy to despair of ones usefulness and ability to make any difference at all that is going on in the world. It is easy to say there is nothing I can do about the gross overwhelming evil that is visible everywhere from the news, to entertainment, to our society.  Yet even in this present age God has placed we as believers in the world as a light for Him, and as the darkness deepens so the contrast of a holy life will stand out. I am so encouraged by this verse, and the promise/ reminder that even in the darkest days yet I know I see/ and will continue to see God’s goodness. 

As this world slides into the dark despair of living without hope for the future, we have the privilege to be Gods light, sharing the hope that is found in Christ alone. Let us be faithful to this call to be live the salt & light lives set apart to holiness.

Travels Part 2

So this was a bit long in coming but after all we only arrived in the final destination of South Carolina on Tuesday after the 8,250 Miles traveled in just a little over a month. A few more pictures from the trip from Oregon to New York and now in South Carolina.

Travels part 1

So Wednesday September 30 Dwayne, Carolyn and I after much scrambling, stuffing things in, and finishing things up pulled out of the Ranch and headed east on the Glenn Highway toward the lower 48. I had never made the drive before so it was nothing but new sights and places after the first 20 miles on the highway it was all new sights. I enjoyed seeing new things and meeting new people but mostly it was long hard days of driving.

We saw lot's of creatures on the drive bull moose, stone sheep, caribou, a wolf, a coyote, deer, mountain goats, bison, and lots of birds

We visited Lena Cherkosova's class at the christian school. Lena was one of our flight students this summer.

Then I visited my friends the Hockings in Portland for a few days and had a great time going out to eat and playing games.

Now we are in Ashland with the Kings Daughters family and will be heading in east tomorrow! Pray for the trip to go smoothly!
